Businesses involved in building and
allied work wishing to receive
invitations to tender or quotation
enquiries, must be pre-qualified in
respect of Financial viability,
adequate insurances, Health and Safety
requirements etc. The route to pre-
qualification is by application to, and
registration with, Constructionline,
the national pre-qualification service
which has been established by the DTI.

There is an annual fee for
registration, but we believe this is
offset by the business opportunities
available from a single application for
inclusion on a national database
accessed by numerous Councils and other
public bodies.
Invitations to tender for construction
work are then issued as individual
projects arise, being sent to a
restricted number of firms (normally 8
for work estimated at over £50k),
selected from appropriate work
categories within the Constructionline
database.
